2.Local Area Sales Representative

Company: National Breweries Plc

Location: Lusaka & Kitwe

National Breweries Plc, Zambia’s leading brewing company, is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and customer-focused individual to fill the position of Local Area Sales Representative based in Kitwe, Lusaka & Kitwe.

Purpose of the Role

The Local Area Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth within the assigned territory through effective customer engagement, market intelligence gathering, trade execution, quality monitoring, and the development of strong customer relationships. The role also supports distributor performance and identifies new business opportunities to enhance market penetration and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Market Development

• Drive achievement of sales and volume targets within the assigned territory.
• Identify and develop new market opportunities and retail outlets.
• Monitor and communicate distributor sales performance daily.
• Ensure SKU availability and service excellence across all assigned clusters.
• Conduct regular visits and calls to retail outlets.
• Gather and provide market intelligence on competitor activities and trends.

Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and other key stakeholders.
• Respond promptly to customer queries and concerns.
• Provide timely feedback to management regarding customer and market issues.
• Support customer retention and satisfaction initiatives.

Trade and Quality Compliance

• Monitor compliance with trade standards and company policies.
• Ensure adherence to Recommended Retail Price (RRP) guidelines in the market.
• Identify and report quality concerns and facilitate corrective actions where necessary.
• Support the withdrawal of substandard products from the market when required.

Safety and Fleet Compliance

• Ensure Direct Store Delivery (DSD) vehicles are equipped with the required safety equipment.
• Promote compliance with company health, safety, and security standards.

Company Representation

• Maintain a professional image and uphold National Breweries Plc’s values at all times.
• Act as a positive ambassador of the company in the marketplace.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate or Diploma in Marketing, Sales Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• At least one (1) year experience in marketing and distribution of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
• Knowledge of sales operations, customer service, and route-to-market execution.
