We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly motivated Accountant to join our team and help establish strong financial systems that will support the successful growth and smooth operation of the company.

Position: Accountant

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Setting up and maintaining the company's accounting systems and financial records.
  • Preparing all financial statements, reports, and statutory documents.
  • Managing daily bookkeeping activities and ensuring accurate record keeping.
  • Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Preparing and managing company budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Preparing and filing all necessary financial and regulatory reports.
  • Managing payroll and other employee-related financial records.
  • Monitoring loan portfolios and maintaining accurate lending records.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and managing company finances.
  • Developing and implementing internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Coordinating audits and preparing all required documentation.
  • Providing financial advice and recommendations to management.
  • Performing all accounting duties necessary to ensure the smooth running and financial stability of the company.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in a lending, banking, microfinance, or financial services institution will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
