Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, or similar senior finance role, with strong responsibility for accounting and management reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, payroll, tax compliance, and financial controls.
  • Experience preparing monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and detailed variance analysis.
  • Good understanding of Zambian tax legislation, statutory requirements, and financial compliance processes.
  • Experience working with international or multinational teams and communicating effectively across different time zones.
  • Experience managing accounting systems, inventory controls, reconciliations, and financial data.
  • Ability to work independently in a rural or operational environment while supporting wider administrative and procurement requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare monthly and annual management accounts, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, banking, petty cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and payment processing.
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and budget-versus-actual analysis, providing recommendations to management.
  • Ensure timely submission and payment of statutory taxes and contributions while maintaining full compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and ensure the accuracy of accounting records through regular reconciliations.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with management and the wider finance function.
  • Work closely with accountants during audits, preparation of annual accounts, and tax-related processes.
  • Maintain and improve accounting and inventory systems while ensuring accurate financial and operational information.
  • Support procurement activities and provide financial and administrative assistance across the business.
  • Liaise with international finance teams and provide accurate financial information and reporting within agreed deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in financial management, accounting, and management reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Zambian tax legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Experience in an agricultural, farming, manufacturing, or operational environment would be beneficial.
