DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTIONS

1. STANDARDS AND RESEARCH OFFICER (1 POSITION)

JOB PURPOSE

To undertake the development and implementation of standards in order to provide a regulatory framework for Higher Education Institutions.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Policy and Programme Development: Undertakes the development and implementation of policies and programmes to guide operations of Higher Education Institutions.
2. Standards Development and Implementation: Undertakes timely development and implementation of standards to guide registration, institutional audits, and accreditation.
3. Research and Analysis: Undertakes research on emerging issues to inform regulatory decision-making.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation of Standards: Undertakes monitoring and evaluation of standards.
5. Reporting and Information Dissemination: Undertakes preparation of reports including the State of Higher Education Report.
6. Budgeting and Resource Planning: Undertakes preparation of Unit budget.
7. Performance Management: Undertakes preparation of work plans.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Academic & Professional Qualifications

1. Full Form V/Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology or a Social Science discipline earned from a recognised Higher Education Institution.

Experience

1. Three (3) years’ experience, preferably in an institution of Learning
