SHAWARMA ASSISTANT – 1 POSITION
Minimum Experience: 2 Years
The Shawarma Assistant will be responsible for supporting the preparation and production of Spud & Stack shawarma products while maintaining consistency, speed and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare shawarma ingredients before service.
- Assist with chicken/meat preparation and seasoning.
- Operate and monitor the shawarma station safely.
- Slice shawarma meat appropriately.
- Prepare vegetables, sauces and toppings.
- Assemble shawarma wraps and platters according to company standards.
- Maintain correct portion sizes.
- Ensure orders are prepared accurately and presented properly.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the shawarma station.
- Follow food safety, storage and temperature-control procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages.
- Work efficiently during busy periods.
- Coordinate with other kitchen stations to ensure orders are completed on time.
- Minimise food wastage.
- Assist other kitchen staff when required.
Minimum Requirement: At least 2 years’ practical experience in shawarma preparation/production or a similar fast-food environment.
GENERAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should:
- Must be living in or reasonably close to the Kalingalinga/Kamloops area.
- Have completed education up to Grade 12.
- Be able to speak, read and understand English.
- Have experience relevant to the position applied for.
- Be comfortable following recipes, procedures and SOPs.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Be physically capable of working on their feet for extended periods.
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and late closing shifts.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Be honest, reliable and hardworking.
- Be clean and hygiene-conscious.
- Be willing to receive instructions, training and constructive correction.
- Have reliable means of getting to work.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full-time position in a busy quick-service restaurant.
The restaurant rota may include:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekends
- Public holidays
- Late closing shifts
Late-night transport will be provided for employees travelling to approved nearby areas, subject to the company’s transport arrangements.
