About the Role: Mining Equipment Specialist Jobs in Solwezi

As a Mining Equipment Rental Specialist at Sarens, you will manage a diverse portfolio of heavy equipment including dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, water bowsers, and ancillary mining machinery. You will engage closely with mining houses, contractors, and project owners to promote Sarens’ rental solutions tailored to open-pit mining operations. This position requires a strategic mindset to develop profitable contracts while ensuring high customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development: Identify and secure new rental opportunities; build and maintain a strong sales pipeline; conduct client visits and site assessments.
• Commercial Management: Prepare quotations and proposals; negotiate contracts; monitor contract profitability and performance.
• Customer Relationship Management: Develop long-term partnerships; act as the primary commercial contact; support client retention and growth.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor mining activities and market trends in Zambia and surrounding regions; analyze competitor activities; identify expansion opportunities.
• Operational Collaboration: Coordinate with Operations, Technical, and Maintenance teams; provide technical guidance on equipment selection; assist in project mobilization.

Candidate Profile and Experience

We require a candidate with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the mining, earthmoving, or heavy equipment industry, with a proven track record in equipment rental, business development, or sales. A strong understanding of open-pit mining operations and equipment applications is essential, along with an established network of mining industry contacts within Zambia.

Essential Experience Includes:

• Rental and operational knowledge of heavy mining equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, and water bowsers.
• Demonstrated success in developing and managing commercial agreements and client relationships.

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience working with major mining companies and contractors in Zambia.
• Familiarity with equipment rental businesses in mining environments.
• Understanding of mining project development and contractor mobilization processes.
