About the Role – Logistics Manager Jobs in Ndola

As a Logistics Manager based in Ndola, Copperbelt, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet management and logistics coordination. This role requires a proactive leader who can optimize vehicle utilization, enforce safety standards, and drive operational excellence across the transport function.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily logistics and fleet operations to ensure smooth workflow.
• Manage fleet availability, vehicle scheduling, and utilization to maximize efficiency.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and well maintained.
• Supervise drivers, mechanics, and workshop personnel, monitoring performance, attendance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Plan delivery routes and schedules to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries.
• Track fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle utilization, analyzing costs related to fuel, tyres, repairs, and maintenance.
• Coordinate vehicle repairs and maintenance with garages and suppliers, minimizing breakdowns and operational downtime.
• Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, transport laws, and company policies.
• Develop and enforce fleet safety policies and investigate any accidents or incidents involving fleet assets.
• Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, logistics operations, fuel usage, and costs for management review.
• Lead initiatives to enhance fleet efficiency, improve delivery performance, and control operational costs.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Additional qualifications in Logistics or Fleet Management will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ proven experience in logistics, fleet, or transport management.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise drivers, mechanics, and technical teams effectively.
• Experience with route planning and coordinating delivery operations.
• In-depth understanding of fleet safety protocols and vehicle compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and cost control skills.
• Experience managing external service providers is desirable.
• Possession of a valid driving licence is mandatory.
