Role Overview and Key Responsibilities
The Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator will oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics coordination to ensure efficient storage, movement, and distribution of goods. The role demands strict adherence to company policies, Zambian customs regulations, and safety standards while maintaining inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Warehouse Operations:
- Supervise daily activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Maintain organized warehouse space and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate records in ERP/SAP systems, process stock movements and adjustments, and coordinate with procurement and sales for replenishment planning.
Logistics Coordination:
- Manage local and international shipments, arrange transportation with approved freight forwarders, track deliveries, and resolve logistics issues to meet customer requirements.
Import and Export Compliance:
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, liaise with customs agents, ensure adherence to Zambian customs regulations, and support customs audits and related processes.
SAP / ERP System Management:
- Accurately capture warehouse and logistics transactions, generate reports, maintain master data, and assist users with system issues.
Customer Service and Coordination:
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, finance, and operations teams to communicate shipment status and resolve delivery concerns promptly.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Enforce safety procedures, promote a safe working environment, ensure compliance with ISO standards and local legislation, and participate in safety audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Proficient in SAP or other ERP systems; experience with SAP MM, SD, WM/EWM is advantageous.
- Membership in the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) preferred.
- Experience in electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or distribution sectors.
- Knowledge of import/export processes and Zambian customs regulations.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
