Job Title: Lodge Manager

Job Description :

The Lodge Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lodge to ensure excellent customer service, efficient business performance, compliance with Zambian food safety and labour regulations, and achievement of sales and profitability targets. The role involves managing staff, maintaining high operational standards, controlling costs, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily lodge operations, maintain cleanliness and safety, ensure high food and service standards, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, resolve complaints promptly, monitor customer feedback, and build customer loyalty.

Staff Leadership and Management

  • Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and motivate employees while managing schedules, attendance, and policy compliance.
  • Manage budgets, monitor sales and costs, handle cash procedures, control inventory, minimise wastage, and coordinate procurement with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety standards, and all relevant Zambian laws while maintaining accurate operational records.
  • Drive sales through marketing initiatives, monitor market trends, prepare operational reports, analyse performance, and recommend improvements to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • Additional management or food safety certification is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in managerial role in a restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Experience in budgeting, inventory management, and customer service.

Knowledge

  • Restaurant operations and food service management.
  • Customer service principles.
  • Financial management and budgeting.
  • Inventory and stock control.
  • Food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Zambian labour laws and occupational health and safety requirements.
