The appointed EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing all environmental health and safety functions, ensuring strict adherence to Zambian regulations and international best practices. This is a full-time position based on-site in Kitwe.

Key Responsibilities for EHS Manager Jobs in Kitwe

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, safety audits, and regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with Workers’ Compensation, NAPSA, and Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) regulations.
• Lead investigations into workplace incidents and prepare detailed reports for management review.
• Deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks to enhance staff awareness and promote a culture of safety.
• Compile and submit monthly EHS performance reports to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 and 7 years of verifiable experience in EHS roles, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity within construction, mining, or engineering sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of Zambian EHS legislation as well as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Registration with a relevant professional body is essential.
• Excellent leadership abilities, strong reporting skills, and effective communication.
• Willingness to relocate to Kitwe and commit to full-time, on-site work.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive gross monthly salary of ZMW 16,000.
