3. POSITION: WELDER

Job Purpose

To carry out welding, metal fabrication, and repair activities in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and workplace safety procedures to support the reliable operation of plant equipment and structures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform welding activities on metal components, machinery, structural parts, and equipment as assigned.
• Select appropriate welding processes and equipment for different jobs.
• Prepare metal surfaces and positioning components before welding.
• Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other workshop tools safely.
• Work closely with mechanical fitters, fabrication personnel, engineers, and supervisors to complete assigned jobs.
• Comply with hot-work procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and the correct use of personal protective equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Trade certificate in Metal Fabrication
• Minimum 3 Years Practical welding experience in a workshop, industrial, or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of welding equipment, materials, and workshop safety procedures.
• Familiarity with different welding techniques is desirable.
