Job Purpose

To accurately weigh, record and verify all incoming and outgoing materials, raw materials, packaging, and finished products using the weighbridge system. The role ensures proper documentation, data integrity, and control of stock movements to support production, sales, and finance operations while maintaining security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Weighing Operations: Operate the weighbridge to weigh all incoming vehicles carrying raw materials, packaging, fuel, and outgoing vehicles with finished goods and by-products.
• Documentation: Issue weighbridge tickets, delivery notes, and gate passes. Accurately capture vehicle details, weights, supplier/customer details into the system.
• Stock Control: Reconcile physical weights with GRNs, invoices and system entries to ensure no variances or losses.
• Security & Control: Verify vehicle details, driver documents, and ensure only authorized vehicles access the weighbridge. Report any suspicious activities.
• Equipment Care: Conduct daily checks and cleaning of the weighbridge. Report faults, calibration needs, and downtime to Maintenance/IT immediately.
• Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on tonnages received, dispatched, and stock balances for management.
• Compliance: Adhere to Company policies, OHS standards, and food safety/GMP requirements. Maintain professionalism when dealing with transporters and suppliers.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate with 5 Credits including Math and English. Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Stores Management, or related field is an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years experience operating a weighbridge in a manufacturing, FMCG, or logistics environment.
• Computer literacy - MS Excel and knowledge of ERP system is an added advantage.
