Job Title: Transporter Relations Officer
Sources, onboards, and manages third-party transport service providers (truck owners) while ensuring strict compliance with Zambian legal and regulatory standards, route rate optimization, and SLA performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporter Sourcing: Recruit and onboard third-party truck owners to expand fleet capacity.
- Statutory Compliance: Verify RTSA roadworthiness/PSV licenses, mandatory Goods-in-Transit (GIT) insurance, and ZRA compliance (TPIN, Tax Clearance, WHT).
- Contracts & SLAs: Draft, negotiate, and enforce commercial transport agreements.
- Rate Benchmarking: Monitor market freight rates and fuel price adjustments across local and cross-border corridors.
- Vendor Management: Track transporter performance (turnaround times, safety, cargo delivery) and resolve contract operational issues.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in transport procurement or vendor operations in Zambia.
- Sound knowledge of RTSA regulations, ZRA tax rules, and local haulage routes.
