VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Visionary Minds Academy is a vibrant newly opened private school located in Mpika, New Town, behind Napsa, dedicated to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and strong moral values in young learners. As we establish our foundation, we are seeking mature, pro-active, and inspirational educators to join our founding team.

We are currently recruiting for the following full-time positions:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teachers 3
  • Primary School Teachers 4

1. Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teachers (3 Posts)

The core purpose of this role is to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where young children can learn foundational skills. Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons to build early literacy and numeracy readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Planning: Design and lead daily routines, games, and lessons covering basic concepts like letters, numbers, shapes, and colors.
  • Child Development: Monitor and record developmental milestones, assess individual student needs, and provide extra support when necessary.
  • Safety and Care: Ensure a clean, secure classroom, manage active supervision during play and meals, and follow all health regulations.
  • Family Communication: Maintain open, professional communication with parents and guardians through daily updates and progress reports.
  • Behavior Guidance: Promote positive social interactions, empathy, sharing, and constructive conflict resolution among children.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate or GCE with 5 Credits or better, including English.
  • Minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license and registration with the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ).
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience at a reputable school is preferred.
  • Fluency in English (knowledge of local languages like Bemba is an added advantage)

2. Primary School Teachers (4 Posts)

The core purpose of this role is planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in the Primary Section learning environment that guides and challenges students to acquire expected knowledge, skills and understanding to fulfil their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for a primary class, supporting, nurturing and taking a genuine interest in the holistic development of all children in that class;
  • Working closely with the Head Teacher and colleagues to ensure effective teaching and learning.
  • Planning and implementing a relevant, challenging and rigorous curriculum;
  • Planning and delivering lessons, ensuring attention is given to appropriate differentiation;
  • Contributing to collaborative learning at all levels of school life;
  • Creating inquiry-based classrooms that develop critical thinking skills, knowledge and a range of skills within an environment based on trust, respect and fairness;
  • Selecting relevant resources and leveraging digital tools to support and enhance learning;
  • Develop appropriate assessment tasks, providing timely and effective feedback that enhances pupil’s learning;
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues in a professional manner;
  • Provide appropriate pastoral support as and when necessary;
  • Play an active role in the school’s extra-curricular programmes.
  • Any other assigned duties

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Grade 12 certificate with 5 Credit or better
  • 2+ Year Experience at a reputable school
  • Primary Teacher’s Diploma or better
  • Registered and Licensed Member of the Teaching Council of Zambia
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
  • Excellent verbal and written communication Skills
  • Excellent IT and interpersonal skills essential to work closely with students, colleagues and parents
  • A growth mindset
