Storyteller / Writer

Role Summary:

The Storyteller / Writer is responsible for capturing the heart and mission of the organization through compelling narratives. This role transforms raw data, interviews, and experiences into engaging stories that resonate with donors, clients, and the public. The ideal candidate possesses a knack for emotional resonance and clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Write articles, blog posts, newsletters, case studies, and impact reports.
• Interviewing: Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, staff, and stakeholders to gather authentic stories.
• Editing: Proofread and edit content from other team members to ensure consistency in tone and style.
• Brand Voice: Maintain and evolve the organization’s editorial voice across all written materials.
• Grant Writing: Assist in writing grant proposals and reports (if applicable).
• SEO: Optimize written content for search engines to improve visibility.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• Portfolio of published writing or storytelling work.
• ☑ years of experience in copywriting, journalism, or content marketing.
• Exceptional command of grammar and style (AP Style knowledge is a plus).
• Ability to translate complex information into accessible, engaging stories.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse subjects.
