Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Repair Technician Role

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of heavy construction machinery including excavators, loaders, rollers, graders, and trailers. Your expertise will ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, and braking systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid inspections.
• Maintain accurate workshop records and logs.
• Ensure workshop safety, cleanliness, and proper upkeep of repair tools.
• Promptly request spare parts to reduce equipment downtime.

Salary: Starting from ZMW 6,000 gross per month.

Wheeled Excavator Operator Position

The Wheeled Excavator Operator will safely operate wheeled excavators for excavation, trenching, loading, earthmoving, and subgrade clearing tasks. Precision and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate wheeled excavators in compliance with site safety procedures.
• Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections.
• Check hydraulic oil levels, tyre pressures, brakes, and steering mechanisms.
• Collaborate with survey teams, civil engineers, and site supervisors to meet project requirements.

Salary: Between ZMW 9,000 and ZMW 10,000 gross per month.

Qualifications and Experience Required for Heavy Equipment Mechanic Jobs in Kaoma

• Minimum of three years of verifiable hands-on experience in the relevant position.
• Possession of a valid Zambian Class G (Special Type Vehicles) licence or equivalent professional technical credentials, active for at least three years.
• For Mechanics: Proficiency in diesel engine overhauls, hydraulic troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.
• For Excavator Operators: Demonstrated skill in precise machine operation and earthworks on civil construction sites.
• Strong responsibility, professionalism, and ability to meet project deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits
