Kuma Investments is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced excavator mechanic to join our team in Chipata, Zambia. This full-time position focuses on the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty machinery, ensuring operational efficiency and safety across our construction and engineering projects.

About the Excavator Mechanic Role

As an Excavator / Heavy-Duty Mechanic at Kuma Investments, you will play a critical role in supporting our equipment maintenance operations. Your expertise in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing timely repairs will help minimize downtime and maintain the reliability of our heavy machinery fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair excavators and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related components to manufacturer standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment breakdowns and extend service life.
• Keep detailed service records and promptly report any equipment defects.
• Adhere strictly to workshop and on-site safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of two years’ experience working as a heavy-duty mechanic, preferably with excavators.
• Proven practical skills in maintaining and repairing excavators and similar machinery.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems essential for heavy equipment maintenance.
• Relevant mechanical qualification or demonstrable technical competence in heavy-duty machinery.
• Ability to accurately identify faults and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to be based at our duty station in Chipata, Zambia.
