About the Fleet Dispatcher Role in Chambishi

As a Fleet Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in managing daily truck allocations and monitoring fleet movements. Your responsibilities will include liaising with drivers, operations teams, and clients to ensure smooth trip scheduling and delivery adherence. This position demands a detail-oriented individual who can maintain accurate records, promptly report operational issues, and guarantee compliance with all transport regulations and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch and assign trucks to scheduled trips.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, operations staff, and clients regarding trip details and delivery requirements.
• Monitor vehicle locations and track trip progress to ensure timely deliveries.
• Verify that drivers possess all necessary trip documentation and authorisations before departure.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date dispatch records, trip sheets, and vehicle movement reports.
• Report any delays, breakdowns, route deviations, or other operational challenges to management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, road safety standards, and transport regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of Grade 12 Certificate.
• Diploma in Transport and Logistics or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in fleet dispatching or transport operations is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination, and record-keeping abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and maintain flexibility in work hours when necessary.
