About the Role – Equipment Trainer Jobs in Lumwana

As an Equipment Trainer at GMZL, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training and competency assessments to operators using a wide range of mining machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all operators maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Train and assess operators on equipment including Hitachi 785 Dump Trucks, Dozers, Hitachi EX870 Excavators, Volvo Excavators, light vehicles, and other mining machinery.
• Design, develop, and implement effective training programs and competency evaluations.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures during training and on-site operations.
• Conduct refresher training sessions and monitor operator performance to maintain high competency levels.
• Foster a strong safety culture and encourage best practices among all site personnel.
• Maintain accurate training records and prepare detailed reports for management review.
• Collaborate closely with operations and safety teams to identify and address training needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Certification from TAVETA or equivalent qualification in a related field.
• At least five years’ experience as an Equipment Trainer within open pit mining environments.
• Demonstrated ability to train operators on diverse mining equipment, showcasing multi-skilled expertise.
• Valid Blasting Licence and Silicosis Medical Certificate.
• Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Comprehensive knowledge of open pit mining operations and safety regulations.
