Tekparc Solutions LTD is seeking a skilled and adaptable electromechanical IT support technician to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of electrical engineering and IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both electrical systems and advanced smart parking technologies, including License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras, boom barriers, and pay stations, as well as supporting local IT network infrastructure.

This role demands a professional who combines solid expertise in electrical wiring and hardware with practical IT networking and computer hardware troubleshooting skills. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure and automated systems while supporting uninterrupted IT connectivity across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Systems Maintenance: Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical panels, wiring, power distribution units, lighting, and backup power systems throughout company sites.
• Smart Hardware & Access Control: Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical components including automatic gates, boom barriers, ticket dispensers, and automated pay stations.
• IT Infrastructure & Networking: Manage and maintain LANs, routers, switches, fiber and ethernet cabling, and Wi-Fi access points to ensure continuous network performance.
• System Diagnostics & LPR Support: Configure, test, and maintain LPR cameras, CCTV surveillance, and other data-capturing hardware.
• Software & Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with computer hardware, peripherals, and operating systems used in operational workstations and kiosks.
• Preventative Maintenance & Safety: Conduct routine inspections to prevent downtime, strictly adhering to occupational health and safety standards.
• Emergency Technical Support: Respond promptly to technical outages, system failures, or power fluctuations to minimize operational disruptions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Diploma, Craft Certificate, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years in a combined electrical maintenance and IT/networking support role.
• Electrical Expertise: Certified or proven competence in industrial/commercial electrical wiring, fault troubleshooting, and schematic interpretation.
• IT & Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routers, switches, cabling), CCTV systems, and hardware diagnostics.
• Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, or software-related system failures.
• Professional Attributes: Self-motivated, capable of working independently or collaboratively, and able to perform under pressure in dynamic operational environments.
