Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies (LIBES) one of the 28 Public TEVET Institutions under the Ministry of Technology and Science is inviting qualified, suitably, and highly motivated Individuals to apply for the following vacant positions: –

DRIVER (01)

Reporting to: Human Resource and Administration officer

Job Purpose

Successful candidates for position of a driver will be responsible for transporting members of staff, students and materials within the organization, ensuring efficient and safe operations of the institution pool vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safely transport staff, student, management, visitors, documents, equipment and other authorized items to designated destinations

2. Conduct routine vehicles inspections and ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed.

3. Maintain accurate logs and records of vehicles usage and mileage.

4. Remain available and responsive to authorized emergency transportation requests, particularly where a student’s health or safety is concerned.

5. Assisting with loading and offloading of materials as needed.

6. Carry out mechanical checks on the Vehicles and identify faults that may affect the safe operation of the vehicle.

7. Attend to and rectify minor mechanical problems where necessary.

8. Oversee vehicle service schedules and coordinate routine maintenance/repairs with designated service providers or workshops

9. Upholding institution safety policies and procedures at all times.

10. To work in day shift and night shift

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

1. Grade 12 Certificate with 5 credits or better including Mathematics and English.
2. Automotive/Mechanical Engineering Trade test level 1 Certificate
3. Two (2) years’ work experience in driving a variety of vehicles.
4. A valid driver’s license (Class CE) with clean record.
