Key Requirements

  • Hotel School or Hospitality qualification with at least 4 years’ relevant hospitality experience.
  • Previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Trainee Manager, Camp Supervisor, or similar supervisory role.
  • Experience within a high-end hotel, lodge, safari camp, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, guest services, housekeeping, and lodge maintenance.
  • Experience managing stock controls, monthly stocktakes, ordering, breakages, and inventory levels.
  • Good understanding of basic labour law, disciplinary procedures, and staff management practices.
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to manage basic administrative and operational systems.
  • Excellent English communication skills with strong written and verbal abilities.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to support the operational requirements of the camp.
  • Strong service mindset, attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day camp operations and ensure all departments maintain high operational and service standards.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and manage lodge staff while addressing performance, discipline, and service-related matters.
  • Ensure exceptional guest relations and provide a welcoming, personalised experience throughout the guest stay.
  • Oversee guest arrivals and departures, including check-ins, check-outs, hosting, and general guest assistance.
  • Coordinate meal services and ensure consistent Food & Beverage standards are maintained.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, maintenance, presentation, and overall camp appearance.
  • Manage stock, purchasing, orders, breakages, and monthly stocktakes to ensure effective cost and inventory control.
  • Monitor operational expenses and support effective financial administration within the camp.
  • Maintain clear communication between staff and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Identify operational issues and take initiative to resolve challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure lodge procedures, service standards, and operational requirements are consistently followed.
  • Support staff development through ongoing coaching, training, and a developmental management approach.

Qualifications
