We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Camp Manager to manage a growing long-term corporate accommodation facility in Kalumbila.

The facility provides accommodation primarily to long-term corporate clients and includes daily housekeeping, laundry and full catering services.

This is an operational position. We are looking for someone who is actively involved in the day-to-day running of the facility and can maintain high standards across accommodation, catering and support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the overall day-to-day operation of the accommodation facility
• Manage and supervise housekeeping, kitchen, laundry and general support staff
• Ensure rooms are cleaned and inspected daily and maintained to a high standard
• Oversee preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner
• Monitor food quality, portions, presentation and kitchen hygiene
• Manage laundry operations and ensure clothing and linen are handled correctly
• Prepare and manage staff rosters, attendance and performance
• Manage food, cleaning materials, linen, toiletries and other consumable stock
• Control wastage and operating costs
• Coordinate maintenance and ensure faults are attended to promptly
• Maintain good communication and relationships with corporate clients and residents
• Handle complaints and operational issues quickly and professionally
• Ensure high standards of hygiene, health and safety throughout the facility
• Maintain accurate operational records and provide regular management reports

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience in accommodation, hospitality, camp management or a similar environment
• Preferably at least 2 years in a supervisory or management position
• Previous experience as a Camp Manager, Accommodation Manager, or similar operational hospitality role
• Experience managing long-term corporate or mining accommodation will be a strong advantage
• Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Catering Management, Food & - Beverage Management, Business Management or a related field preferred
• A Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field will be an added advantage
• Relevant food safety, hygiene, HSE or first-aid certification will be an added advantage
• Candidates with substantial proven camp-management experience may be considered even without a formal hospitality qualification
• Good understanding of catering, housekeeping and laundry operations
• Strong staff management and leadership skills
• Good stock and cost-control abilities
• Computer literate and comfortable with basic reporting and administration
• Able to work independently and take responsibility for the entire operation
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Must be hands-on, organised and able to maintain consistent standards.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the operation.

The successful candidate should be comfortable walking through the facility daily, inspecting rooms, checking the kitchen and meals, monitoring laundry, checking stock levels, supervising staff and personally ensuring that problems are resolved.

This position would particularly suit someone with experience managing a mining camp, corporate accommodation facility, lodge or similar residential hospitality operation.
