Application and Cyber Security Administrator

About the Role

As an Application and Cyber Security Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, patching, and administration of enterprise applications to ensure their availability and security. You will work closely with IT operations, application owners, and engineering teams to implement robust security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond promptly to cyber security incidents. This hands-on position demands a proactive approach to safeguarding our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain enterprise applications with a focus on baseline hardening and identity and access management (IAM).
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with technical teams.
• Monitor security alerts and application logs; participate in incident triage, containment, and root cause analysis.
• Implement organizational security policies through technical configurations across applications, APIs, and cloud services.
• Collaborate with change management and development teams to review system changes, evaluate risks, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• First Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• ZAQA Certified Grade 12 with a minimum of 5 credits.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in application or cyber security administration.

Technical Competencies

• Application Security Management: Secure software development lifecycle (SDLC), vulnerability assessment and remediation, security testing (SAST, DAST, penetration testing), secure coding principles.
• Cybersecurity Operations: Threat monitoring and detection, incident response and investigation, security event management (SIEM), malware analysis and prevention.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): User access administration, privileged access management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), role-based access control (RBAC).
