Background

The Judiciary is an independent arm of Government established under part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is "To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner".

In order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary in Southern Province intends to fill the vacant positions indicated below.

WATCHMAN – JSS 01

2 Positions

Annual Basic Salary: K68,025.88

Stations

• Livingstone A1 Local Court, Livingstone District
• Namwala Local Court, Namwala District

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol court premises and protect court property.
• Monitor the security of buildings and surrounding areas.
• Apprehend offenders where appropriate and in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Maintain and regularly update the Occurrence Book.
• Prepare and submit incident reports.
• Report suspicious activities and security incidents promptly.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for court staff and visitors.
• Perform other security duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

• Grade 9 Certificate and English.
• Ability to write basic reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Confidentiality and discretion.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Tact and diplomacy.
• Initiative and alertness.
• Physical fitness.
• Sober character and good conduct.
