Volunteer Liaison Officer
Role Summary:
The Volunteer Liaison Officer serves as the primary bridge between the organization and its volunteer workforce. This role is responsible for recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers, ensuring that both the volunteer and the organization derive maximum value from the relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
- Develop strategies to attract volunteers through community outreach, job boards, and events.
Onboarding & Training:
- Coordinate orientation sessions and training programs for new volunteers.
Scheduling:
- Manage volunteer rosters and schedules to ensure adequate coverage for programs.
Support:
- Act as the main point of contact for volunteer inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
Recognition:
- Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and recognition programs.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, skills, and contact information in the CRM.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- ☑ years of experience in volunteer management or community organizing.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple schedules.
- Proficiency with volunteer management software (e.g., VolunteerHub, Better Impact).
- Passion for the organization’s mission.
