The National Council for Construction (NCC), a statutory body established under the National Council for Construction Act No. 10 of 2020, is seeking qualified professionals for training officer jobs in Lusaka. NCC is committed to regulating, promoting, and building capacity within Zambia’s construction industry to support sustainable economic growth. We invite applications from dynamic and motivated individuals to join our team as Training Officers.

Position Overview

The NCC is recruiting three Training Officers (Grade NCC 5) to report directly to the Training Manager. This full-time role involves preparing and delivering lectures, facilitating practical training, tutoring students in building and road construction programmes, and contributing to research and consultancy projects. The successful candidates will play a key role in enabling students to complete their studies and examinations successfully.

Key Responsibilities for Training Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Develop teaching plans and schemes of work based on approved syllabi.
  • Prepare lecture notes, handouts, and other instructional materials using diverse resources.
  • Deliver lectures and tutor students using effective teaching methods and instructional aids.
  • Conduct practical training sessions on building and/or road construction sites.
  • Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and class exercises to evaluate student progress.
  • Prepare and invigilate end-of-course examinations.
  • Participate in NCC consultancy assignments within your area of expertise as required.
  • Address student complaints and provide counselling to support academic improvement.
  • Maintain accurate student records and prepare progress reports based on assessments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate in Teaching Methodology.
  • Full membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
  • At least five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience in training, teaching, or the construction industry.

  • Strong instructional and pedagogical skills.
  • Effective counselling and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in course planning and evaluation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and commitment.
