Woodford School Lusaka is a purpose-built co-educational institution in the Kabulonga area of Lusaka, providing 21st-century learning experience from Nursery through Grade 7.

Ashford Academy, which began operations in January 2022, is a co-educational boarding and day school situated on a 30-hectare estate, offering a balanced curriculum that includes both National and International (Cambridge IGCSE) pathways.

EduServe is the commercial arm of the Rhodes Park Schools Group, managing various school services such as the School Shops, Cafeteria, and Tuck-Shops across the group’s campuses.

EduCorp Limited, established in 2012, focuses on expanding the network of high-quality schools and colleges across Zambia and Southern Africa. Leveraging the experience and reputation of Rhodes Park Schools, EduCorp aims to ensure educational excellence and long-term financial sustainability while meeting the growing demand for quality education in the region. Within the group, EduCorp operates Ashford Academy and Woodford School Lusaka.

DEPARTMENT - ACADEMIC

POSITION # 2:

TEACHER OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY/PHYSICS – SECONDARY SECTION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking responsibility for a Chemistry and Biology/physics class, supporting, nurturing and taking a genuine interest in the holistic development of all children in that class
  • Use practical work, demonstrations and experiments to enhance learning
  • Ensure safe and effective use of laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Assess, track and report on student progress with timely feedback and intervention
  • Promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well managed learning environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and science resource planning
  • Support science clubs, STEM activities and enrichment programs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and pastoral staff

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL COMPETENCIES:

Preferred Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 Credits or better
  • Bachelor of Education - Primary(for the Primary Teacher position) and Bachelor of Business Studies with Education(for the Business Studies Teacher position).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with specialization in Chemistry and Biology/Physicsfrom a recognized institution with the ability to teach up to A-Level (for the Science Teacher position).
  • Qualified teacher registered with The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) with a valid practicing license.
  • Familiarity with ECZ and Cambridge assessment systems.

Knowledge / Experience /Skills/Competencies

  • At least 3 years’ teaching experience
  • Good communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills,
  • Good administrative and interpersonal skills
  • Must hold high levels of integrity, professionalism, and compassion
  • Flexible to changing work needs
