Role Overview: Social Media Manager Jobs in Lusaka
As Social Media Manager for Betway Zambia, you will oversee the entire social media function for the market. This senior, strategic position requires a proactive professional who thrives in a 24/7 social media environment, understands the value of authentic engagement, and consistently seizes the moment to elevate the brand’s presence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and continuously refine the social media strategy across platforms including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Manage a comprehensive content calendar balancing planned, seasonal, and reactive content aligned with commercial and brand goals.
Define platform-specific content approaches, including format, tone, frequency, and audience targeting.
Champion a ‘social-first’ mindset internally, educating stakeholders on social media’s role within the marketing mix.
Oversee content creation and quality control, collaborating with creators, agencies, and production teams to produce platform-native assets such as videos, graphics, carousels, and live coverage.
Ensure all content complies with Zambia’s responsible gambling regulations and brand guidelines.
Lead community management by setting engagement standards, monitoring sentiment, managing crises, and fostering genuine relationships with players, influencers, and media.
Support marketing activations with social-first briefing plans and real-time event coverage.
Collaborate with influencer management and country teams to activate local talent and cultural content opportunities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience managing social media for a major brand in Zambia, preferably within sports, media, entertainment, or betting/gaming sectors.
Demonstrated ability to manage an end-to-end content calendar from planning through post-analysis.
Experience briefing and managing agency partners and content creators.
Exposure to sponsorship activation or rights-holder social content is a strong advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Proficiency in graphic design tools and content creation.
