Senior Manager - Soya Bean Procurement & Supply Chain

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in procurement, buying or commodity sourcing, preferably within the agricultural sector.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural commodity markets, supply chains and sourcing processes.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing supplier networks, including farmers, aggregators, traders and cooperatives.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing, supply agreements and favourable commercial terms.
• Experience managing seasonal procurement volumes, supply availability and price fluctuations.
• Strong understanding of supply chain operations, including collection, storage, transportation and inventory management.
• Previous experience leading procurement teams, field buyers or operational staff would be advantageous.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to sourcing regions and supplier locations during procurement seasons.
• Experience within edible oils, oilseed processing, commodity trading, FMCG procurement or agribusiness would be beneficial.
• Strong understanding of procurement controls, documentation, supplier payments and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective procurement and sourcing strategies to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of agricultural commodities.
• Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, aggregators, traders, cooperatives and other key suppliers.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, supply agreements and commercial terms while managing procurement costs and supply risks.
• Establish and manage the end-to-end supply chain from sourcing and collection through to storage, transportation and delivery.
• Optimise logistics, storage and inventory processes to reduce costs, minimise losses and improve supply efficiency.
• Establish and enforce quality standards and address supplier quality issues relating to product specifications.
• Monitor market prices, production trends, supply availability and competitor activity to support informed procurement decisions.
• Prepare procurement forecasts, budgets and recommendations based on market intelligence and operational requirements.
• Manage seasonal volume requirements and mitigate risks relating to supply shortages and price volatility.
• Recruit, train and lead procurement officers, field buyers and other team members as operations expand.
• Establish clear procurement processes, controls and KPIs to monitor team and supplier performance.
• Ensure accurate procurement documentation, financial discipline, supplier payment controls and compliance with company policies.

• Additional qualifications or training in agricultural commodities, commodity trading or agribusiness would be beneficial.
• Relevant experience in agricultural procurement may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
• Training or exposure to contract negotiation, supplier management or logistics management would be advantageous.
