Key Responsibilities for Security Sergeant Jobs in Mazabuka

• Conduct regular patrols to monitor premises and detect suspicious activities.
• Operate security cameras, alarms, and other monitoring systems to ensure vigilance.
• Report unusual incidents promptly to relevant authorities.
• Verify identities and authorisation of individuals accessing the premises.
• Enforce access control policies and issue visitor badges while maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
• Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, and disturbances.
• Collaborate with emergency services including police, fire, and medical personnel as required.
• Organise and participate in emergency drills, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
• Provide professional assistance and directions to visitors and employees.

• Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards and ensure all security equipment is operational.
• Ensure compliance with SHERQ policies among security staff.

Work Environment

The role involves rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Security Sergeants will work both indoors and outdoors and may be required to stand or walk for extended periods.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Diploma, Certificate, or formal training in security, military, or police work.
• At least three years of experience in security services, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or sergeant role.
• Proficiency in report writing and incident investigation.
• Knowledge of Zambian security laws and regulations.
• Basic computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• All academic and professional certificates must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
