Full Time
Gramus Express Farms Ltd is seeking an experienced and organised Production Manager to oversee its butchery production operations in Ndola.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily production activities, supervising production staff and ensuring that products are prepared efficiently and according to required quality, hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily butchery production activities.
- Supervise and manage production staff.
- Allocate duties and monitor staff performance.
- Ensure production targets are achieved efficiently.
- Monitor the preparation, processing, packaging and handling of meat products.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of production equipment.
- Monitor production stock and minimise wastage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
- Monitor product quality and consistency.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Identify production challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Coordinate with the Stock Controller, Sales and Accounts teams.
- Train and guide production staff where necessary.
- Report production performance and operational issues to management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Food Production, Food Science, Meat Technology, Butchery Management, Production Management or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in butchery, meat processing, food production or a similar production environment.
- Experience supervising production staff.
- Good understanding of production processes, stock usage, hygiene and quality control.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy production environment.
- Practical, hands-on approach to production management.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
