Key Responsibilities for Process Engineer Jobs in Kalumbila

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within processing plants to optimize crushing, grinding, flotation, and separation processes, maximizing metal recovery and minimizing waste.
• Analyze process data and performance metrics using statistical methods to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on plant performance, quality control, and process enhancements to management.
• Lead change management efforts to implement process improvements with minimal disruption to operations.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging staff involvement in identifying and proposing enhancements.
• Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within the nickel processing plant.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and operating methods related to process engineering tasks.
• Plan and execute projects addressing mid to long-term process challenges, maintaining an up-to-date project database.
• Collaborate closely with the Processing Operations team to ensure efficient delivery aligned with customer requirements.
• Facilitate skills transfer and training to enhance the competencies of junior staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Superintendent.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is advantageous.
• Full Grade Twelve (G12) certificate and eligibility for EIZ membership.
• Qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in process engineering within a mineral processing plant.
• Experience with nickel flotation and talc removal circuits is preferred.
