Pivot Maintenance Officer

Role Summary:

To specialize in the preventive and breakdown maintenance of center-pivot and linear-move irrigation systems used in the sugarcane fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled servicing of gearboxes, drive motors, tires, and pivot joints.
• Breakdown Response: Rapidly respond to breakdowns (e.g., collapsed spans, motor failures, burst pipes) to minimize crop water stress.
• Spare Parts Management: Monitor inventory of critical spare parts (tires, gearboxes, seals) and initiate procurement.
• System Calibration: Ensure water pressure and application rates are correctly calibrated for even distribution.
• Safety: Enforce strict Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
• Documentation: Maintain logbooks for each pivot unit, tracking runtime, maintenance history, and diesel/electric consumption.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of specific experience maintaining Valley, Zimmatic, or Reinke pivot systems.
• Certification in hydraulic systems and welding is highly desirable.
