Role Overview: Pension Operations Manager Jobs in Lusaka

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Pension Operations Manager will oversee the full administration of pension schemes, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and managing stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the administration of pension schemes, including managing contributions, benefits, and withdrawals.
• Ensure strict compliance with the Pension Insurance Act (PIA), Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other relevant regulations, including the timely filing of statutory returns.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, internal controls, and business continuity plans.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks effectively.
• Collaborate with the ICT department to optimize the pension administration system and drive process improvements.
• Manage operational budgets, oversee fee administration, and ensure accurate client billing.
• Maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, trustees, and scheme members.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for client complaints and operational issues.
• Lead, train, and evaluate the pension operations team to ensure high performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s Degree is advantageous.
• Certification in Pensions Management is highly desirable.
• At least 6 years of experience in pension administration, including a minimum of 1 year in a senior management position.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Pension Scheme Regulation Act, PIA, and ZRA regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management capabilities.
