PAYROLL CONSULTANT

Reporting To: Project Manager

About the Role

Our client in the Information Technology industry is looking for a Payroll Consultant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clients with payroll system installations and implementations, providing technical assistance, and ensuring payroll solutions are configured accurately according to each client's requirements.

This is a client-facing role suited to someone with a strong understanding of payroll processes, technical systems and implementation projects, together with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and implement payroll systems for new and existing clients.
• Work closely with clients to understand their payroll requirements and configure systems accordingly.
• Provide technical support throughout payroll implementation projects.
• Troubleshoot payroll and system-related issues and identify practical solutions.
• Liaise with payroll software providers and technical teams when additional support is required.
• Assist clients with system setup, configuration and user requirements.
• Guide and support clients in understanding and effectively using their payroll systems.
• Ensure payroll implementations are completed accurately and in line with agreed requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the implementation process.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and system functionality.
• Provide ongoing technical assistance to clients where required.
• Support the Project Manager with the successful delivery of payroll projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience working with payroll systems.
• Good understanding of payroll processes and requirements.
• Experience in system installation, implementation or configuration.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into appropriate system configurations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working directly with clients and providing technical guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple client requirements and projects effectively.

Advantageous Experience

• Previous experience implementing or installing payroll systems.
• Experience with Payspace or similar payroll platforms.
• Experience with Dynamic Payroll or other payroll software.
• Experience working with payroll software providers or vendors.
• Previous experience in a payroll consulting or implementation environment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be technically minded, detail-oriented and comfortable working directly with clients. They should enjoy solving problems, adapt quickly to new systems and remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
