About the Role – Occupational Health Physiotherapist Jobs in Solwezi

As an Occupational Health Physiotherapist, you will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopaedic, and occupational conditions. Your focus will be on functional restoration and injury prevention, supporting employees to regain optimal fitness and work capacity. Collaborating closely with Primary Care Physiotherapists, Occupational Health Doctors, and rehabilitation specialists, you will ensure continuity of care across onsite and offsite services.

Key responsibilities include conducting Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA), developing individualized rehabilitation and work conditioning programs, performing ergonomic evaluations, and delivering educational injury prevention sessions. You will also coordinate multidisciplinary case management and contribute to workplace health initiatives that reduce disability and improve work readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver high-quality physiotherapy services for employees, including manual therapy, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and functional rehabilitation.
• Conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) and Functional Job Assessments (FJAs) to determine fitness for duty and guide return-to-work planning.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation teams to design and implement effective occupational rehabilitation and injury prevention programs.
• Provide ergonomic assessments and workplace recommendations to minimize injury risks.
• Prepare detailed, evidence-based reports for Occupational Health Doctors and participate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation reviews.
• Supervise and mentor junior rehabilitation personnel and physiotherapy technologists.
• Ensure maintenance and proper use of physiotherapy equipment and treatment facilities.
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and professional standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and quality assurance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Physiotherapy.
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and a valid practicing license.
• Membership in the Zambia Society of Physiotherapy.
• Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in physiotherapy, preferably in occupational health, mining, or heavy industry sectors.
• Experience implementing employee wellness and fitness programs, with exposure to return-to-work program management.

Technical Competencies

• Occupational rehabilitation and work capacity evaluation.
• Functional capacity assessment and musculoskeletal evaluation.
• Development and delivery of workplace-focused rehabilitation and injury prevention programs.
