Job Overview
Our client in the sales industry is looking for an experienced and commercially driven National Parts Sales Manager to lead a national parts sales operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing profitability, optimizing inventory management, and ensuring exceptional customer service across a multi-branch network. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in automotive parts sales, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to develop high-performing teams while delivering operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement national parts sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with fleet operators, corporate clients, independent workshops, and other strategic customers.
- Collaborate with vehicle sales and aftersales teams to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market developments to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Develop pricing strategies and promotional initiatives to increase sales and customer retention.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a national team of parts sales professionals, branch managers, and internal sales consultants.
- Establish clear performance objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skills development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Support succession planning and talent development across the parts division.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Oversee national inventory planning to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and obsolete stock.
- Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to improve ordering, receiving, and distribution processes.
- Implement effective inventory control procedures and conduct regular stock audits.
- Monitor inventory turnover, stock ageing, and replenishment cycles to maximize operational efficiency.
- Ensure accurate forecasting based on historical sales trends and future demand.
Sales Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse sales performance, margins, inventory turnover, and profitability to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
- Produce accurate sales forecasts and inventory planning reports.
- Present strategic recommendations to senior management based on market and operational analysis.
- Monitor departmental budgets and recommend cost-saving initiatives where appropriate.
Customer & Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, fleet operators, workshops, suppliers, and other business partners.
- Support regional branches with technical product guidance, sales support, and customer service initiatives.
- Manage high-value customer negotiations and resolve escalated service issues professionally.
- Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction across all locations.
Marketing & Business Development
- Partner with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns, loyalty programmes, and seasonal sales initiatives.
- Support brand awareness activities to strengthen market presence within the automotive aftermarket.
- Represent the organisation at supplier meetings, industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend new product or service offerings.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, warranty policies, and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate pricing structures, inventory records, and sales documentation.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across all branches.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls, inventory policies, and organisational standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5–8 years' experience in automotive parts sales management, preferably within a multi-branch automotive environment.
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding national parts sales and profitability targets.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field is advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven experience in inventory optimisation, forecasting, and national sales leadership.
