This full-time role is critical in supporting the development, coordination, and monitoring of business plans that align with ZACL’s strategic direction. The successful candidate will leverage analytical insights and structured planning to drive strategic and operational decision-making within the Corporation.

Role Overview: Manager Planning and Strategy Jobs in Lusaka

As Manager Planning and Strategy, you will lead the strategic planning processes, ensuring that business objectives are met through rigorous analysis and performance monitoring. This role involves managing the enterprise Strategy Execution Tracker, conducting scenario planning, and providing actionable insights by analyzing both internal and external factors affecting airport and corporate performance. You will also guide departments in cascading strategic priorities, develop financial models, and oversee budgeting and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic corporate research and economic studies to inform strategic planning, operational plans, and benchmarking.
• Manage long-term strategic planning processes incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
• Oversee performance monitoring and reporting mechanisms for the Strategic Plan, including KPI tracking and corrective actions.
• Coordinate annual and mid-term Strategic Plan reviews to adapt to changing business environments.
• Perform scenario planning and risk/opportunity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to business and operational plans, ensuring alignment with the Corporation’s mission and goals.
• Develop financial models and forecasts to optimize resource allocation and validate financial viability of initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgeting, and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reporting.
• Evaluate corporate and airport performance against strategic targets and recommend adjustments as necessary.
• Prepare comprehensive performance reports for executive and Board-level decision-making.
• Support strategic project implementation and monitor outcomes in line with corporate strategy.
• Mentor and empower team members to promote high performance and a productive working environment.
• Facilitate change management initiatives to support adoption of reforms.
• Collaborate closely with other business function managers to ensure effective strategy delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accountancy (ACCA, CIMA, CA), Business Administration, or related fields.
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Management, Business Administration, or Finance is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a related function, preferably within the aviation or airport industry.
• Strong proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies for research and productivity.
• Ability to interpret financial statements and build financial models to support management decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with ability to interact with government ministries, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independently prioritizing work.
• Demonstrated analytical mindset with strong business acumen.
