About the Maintenance Planner Role

As a Maintenance Planner within our Technical Department, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise equipment performance. Your responsibilities will include planning and coordinating maintenance activities, managing plant shutdowns, and implementing asset care strategies that improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Planner Jobs in Kitwe

• Lead problem-solving initiatives related to equipment and process challenges.
• Develop, schedule, and coordinate routine and project-based maintenance activities.
• Plan and oversee plant shutdowns and maintenance projects to minimise downtime.
• Create and implement Asset Care Plans to enhance equipment reliability.
• Analyse maintenance data and prepare detailed asset care reports.
• Identify opportunities for maintenance improvements and investigate root causes of failures.
• Maintain and update the CMMS/COSWIN maintenance management system to ensure data integrity.
• Monitor maintenance schedules and optimise activities for peak efficiency.
• Produce regular maintenance performance reports for management review.
• Collaborate closely with production teams to align maintenance planning with operational requirements.
• Champion continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in beverage, brewing, or FMCG manufacturing environments preferred.
• Familiarity with project planning and managing plant shutdowns.
• Expertise in advanced maintenance planning and reliability improvement techniques.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance methodologies including TPM, RCM, CMMS/COSWIN, Condition Monitoring, and RAM.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to influence teams and enforce maintenance compliance standards.
