Key Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in commercial livestock production, feedlot management, and large-scale herd breeding.
- Experience using livestock management software such as TrueTest, Bengu Farms, or similar EID-based systems.
- Sound knowledge of grazing systems, animal health, breeding programmes, and beef production.
- Foundational knowledge of perennial crop establishment and agronomic management (citrus, coffee, or similar).
- Strong leadership experience managing large agricultural teams.
- Mechanical aptitude with a practical understanding of farm infrastructure and construction projects.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to manage multiple farming operations simultaneously.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and the ability to work under pressure.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to live and work on a commercial farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all livestock operations, including breeding, grazing, animal health, feedlot activities, and beef marketing.
- Plan and oversee fodder production, grazing systems, and supplementary feeding programmes.
- Maintain accurate livestock records using farm management software.
- Work with livestock consultants on breeding programmes, genetics, and herd performance.
- Lead the establishment and long-term management of perennial crop developments.
- Oversee irrigation installation, land preparation, planting, and crop maintenance programmes.
- Manage farm capital development projects, including feedlot and infrastructure development.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop livestock and crop production teams.
- Monitor farm performance, budgets, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to improve productivity and profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement across livestock, crop production, and farm development activities.

- Proven experience managing breeding programmes, grazing systems, and beef production.
- Knowledge of perennial crop establishment and agronomic practices.
- Experience managing agricultural infrastructure or farm development projects is advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Additional training in livestock production, pasture management, or project management will be advantageous.
