About the Laboratory Technician Role

The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing and maintaining science laboratories to facilitate effective practical lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Level curriculum. This position requires hands-on involvement in laboratory setup, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols to support both teachers and students in delivering high-quality science education.

Key Responsibilities for Laboratory Technician Jobs in Ndola

• Prepare laboratories by setting up apparatus, chemicals, and other resources required for practical science lessons.
• Assist teaching staff in organizing and conducting practical activities and demonstrations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all tools and materials are clean, functional, and stored safely.
• Prepare practical materials specifically for Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Level examinations.
• Manage the safe disposal of laboratory waste and hazardous substances in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to school health, safety, and risk management policies at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Technology, Applied Science, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician, preferably within a school or educational environment, is advantageous.
• Strong practical knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment handling, chemical safety, and relevant protocols.
• Familiarity with Cambridge Science practical requirements will be considered an asset.
