Alfred H Knight is seeking a skilled Laboratory Chemist to join our team in Kitwe, Copperbelt, Zambia. As a Laboratory Chemist at Alfred H Knight, you will be responsible for conducting analytical testing and overseeing administrative activities within the General Analysis Laboratory. Reporting to the Head of Department, you will ensure efficient laboratory operations while maintaining the highest quality standards for our clients.
Your daily duties will include managing production workflows, delegating assignments, and supervising laboratory analysts to meet strict turnaround times. You will champion health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) compliance by performing daily safety inspections and leading shift meetings. A critical part of your role will focus on ensuring sample and data integrity through thorough verification of test results, sample tracking, and quality assurance trend analysis. You will also investigate any anomalies in reporting, oversee instrument calibration and maintenance, and manage reagent inventory.
Building strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients will be essential, as will researching and implementing innovative analytical methods to improve quality and cost-efficiency continuously.
