About the Role

Reporting directly to the Corporate Affairs Manager, the International Relations Officer acts as the primary liaison for international stakeholders, ensuring consistent and professional representation of the company on global platforms. The role is embedded within the Corporate Affairs Department, which manages external and internal communications, protects the company’s reputation, and fosters strong stakeholder relationships to support sustainable corporate citizenship.

Key Responsibilities for International Relations Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Serve as the main contact for international shareholders, investors, partners, and multilateral organizations, managing all correspondence and follow-up actions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate inbound and outbound visits, missions, and meetings involving international stakeholders, including logistics, itineraries, briefing materials, and protocol arrangements.
  • Prepare and review investor-facing communications such as briefing notes, presentations, talking points, and background materials tailored for an international investor audience.
  • Support the company’s positioning and messaging across international platforms, ensuring internal alignment and consistency of shared information.
  • Monitor relevant developments within the company’s investees, sector, and listing environment to provide timely intelligence that informs engagement and communications strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external bodies including diplomatic missions, investment promotion agencies, stock exchanges, and international media.
  • Provide general support to the Investor Relations and Governance Officer and undertake additional duties as assigned by the Corporate Affairs Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Grade Twelve or equivalent with credits in five subjects, including Mathematics and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Finance, Communications, Media, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Certificate in Diplomacy, Protocol, and Public Relations is required.
  • At least four years of relevant experience in investor relations, corporate affairs, strategic communications, international liaison, or a comparable stakeholder-facing role.
  • Experience in the mining or energy sector is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce polished, high-quality materials under time constraints.
  • Strong organizational and logistics coordination skills, especially for complex, multi-party visits and missions across different time zones.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive investor and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Proven relationship management skills across diverse external counterparts, including investors, diplomatic missions, exchanges, and media.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Investor Relations and Governance Officer while managing an independent workload.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to consistency, aligning outputs with the company’s broader investor relations and corporate affairs messaging.
