About the Role: Internal Auditor Jobs in Lusaka

The Internal Auditor will report directly to the Manager of Internal Audit and will be based at Plot F10723, Chifwema Road, Lusaka. This full-time position requires a proactive individual to execute internal audit assignments, ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and compliance within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit Planning and Execution: Implement the approved annual risk-based audit plan to ensure comprehensive coverage aligned with organisational goals.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and monitor operational and financial risks to ensure effective mitigation.
• Internal Control Evaluation: Assess internal control systems for adequacy in safeguarding assets and compliance with policies.
• Compliance and Governance: Review compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance standards to uphold accountability.
• Audit Fieldwork Supervision: Oversee audit teams to guarantee adherence to standards, procedures, and timelines.
• Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare clear, timely audit reports with actionable recommendations supporting management and board decisions.
• Follow-up and Implementation Monitoring: Track implementation of audit recommendations to ensure prompt corrective action.
• Advisory Services: Offer advisory support on risk, control, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• External Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate information sharing and minimise duplication.
• Operational Reporting: Submit mandatory reports timely to monitor audit activities and support decision-making.
• Performance Management: Develop individual work plans, monitor performance, and promote continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) or the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
• Minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in internal auditing or related fields.
