Background
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure Surveyor to join our team for a major infrastructure development project. The successful candidate will be responsible for all on-site surveying activities, ensuring that construction works are executed accurately and in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
Job Purpose
The Infrastructure Surveyor will carry out precise setting out, measurement, and leveling tasks on-site. The role requires a hands-on professional who can translate construction drawings into accurate physical layouts and provide reliable survey data to support the construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set out works on-site according to construction drawings and project specifications.
- Measure and lay out structures, alignments, and levels accurately.
- Establish and maintain control points and benchmarks on-site.
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments, including Total Stations, Levels, and Infrared Levels.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and in good working condition at all times.
- Read and interpret construction drawings accurately.
- Calculate elevations and determine level differences on-site.
- Verify measurements and provide accurate survey data to the engineering team.
- Record and maintain clear and accurate survey notes and records.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Site Engineers, Foremen, and construction teams to provide timely survey information.
- Report any discrepancies between drawings and site conditions to the relevant supervisor.
- Adhere to all site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
- Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as a Surveyor on infrastructure or construction projects.
- Skilled in the use of Total Station, Level, and Infrared Level.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong ability to measure and lay out works on-site.
- Competent in calculating elevations and measuring level differences on-site.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
