About the Human Resource Officer Role

As a Human Resource Officer at CCECC, you will play a pivotal role in managing all facets of human resource functions to support the successful execution of the TAZARA Rehabilitation Project. This contract position demands a proactive and experienced HR professional to ensure compliance with company policies and Zambian labour laws while fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities for Human Resource Officer Jobs in Mpika

• Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction processes for project employees.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure adherence to company policies and Zambian labour legislation.
• Manage employment contracts, staff movements, and all relevant employee documentation.
• Monitor attendance, leave administration, and disciplinary procedures efficiently.
• Support payroll preparation by maintaining precise HR records and timesheets.
• Facilitate staff training, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
• Promote positive employee relations and professionally resolve workplace grievances.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards related to HR management.
• Prepare comprehensive HR reports and maintain confidential personnel files.
• Liaise with government agencies and relevant stakeholders on labour and employment matters as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is essential.
• At least 3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
• Thorough knowledge of the Zambian Employment Code Act and other applicable labour laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage pressure in a fast-paced project setting.
• High integrity with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
