Job Overview

Our client in the human resources industry is looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the organisation's people function. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, systems and policies that support business objectives while fostering a high-performance culture. The successful candidate will oversee performance management, learning and development, employee relations, compliance and HR operations, while partnering with executive leadership to drive organisational growth, transformation and workforce excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Human Resources Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement the organisation's people strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Design, implement and continuously improve HR systems, policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Support the implementation of structured organisational frameworks and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Lead organisational development programmes that enhance operational performance, employee engagement and business effectiveness.
  • Drive organisational change management initiatives and support transformation projects.
  • Provide strategic HR advice to executive management on workforce planning, talent management and succession planning.

Performance Management

  • Design and implement a comprehensive organisation-wide performance management framework.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), performance objectives and performance review processes.
  • Support managers in conducting fair, consistent and effective performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate employee coaching, development planning and continuous performance improvement.
  • Identify high-potential employees and implement succession planning strategies.

Learning & Development

  • Develop and implement the organisation's learning and development strategy.
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction programmes for new employees.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and implement learning initiatives that strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Employee Relations & Organisational Culture

  • Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct employee engagement initiatives and monitor workforce satisfaction.
  • Promote diversity, equity and inclusion across the organisation.
  • Implement initiatives that improve employee retention and career development.

HR Policies, Compliance & Governance

  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and labour legislation.
  • Maintain and regularly update the Employee Handbook and HR policy documentation.
  • Develop Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) guidelines and workplace initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with employment legislation, regulatory requirements and organisational governance standards.
  • Monitor legislative developments and advise executive management on required policy changes.
  • Support organisational readiness for regulatory and operational change.

HR Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the organisation.
  • Lead and manage HR teams across multiple operational locations.
  • Ensure accurate employee records and effective administration of HR Information Systems.
  • Prepare HR reports, workforce analytics and management information to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor HR budgets and resources to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Professional Human Resources qualification and membership with a recognised HR professional body will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years' management experience within Human Resources.
  • Experience within the hospitality, tourism, service or other multi-site operational environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing HR systems, policies and organisational structures.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and managing organisation-wide performance management systems.
  • Experience leading organisational change and business transformation initiatives.
  • Previous experience managing HR teams across multiple locations will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using HR Information Systems, preferably SAGE 300 or similar ERP/HR platforms.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
