Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA(SA), CPA, or equivalent (essential).
  • Minimum 8–10 years' progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Experience within logistics, transport, supply chain, manufacturing, mining, engineering, or other complex operational environments.
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams within a fast-paced business.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, governance, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance analysis.
  • Experience managing treasury, cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of tax compliance, statutory reporting, and external audit management.
  • Experience preparing management accounts, financial statements, and executive reporting packs.
  • Advanced financial modelling, business analysis, and commercial decision-support skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong financial reporting capability.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to influence strategic business decisions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and people development skills.
  • Ability to identify financial risks and implement effective control measures.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function and provide strategic financial leadership to support business objectives.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, management accounts, and executive reporting packs.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Oversee treasury, cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory regulations, tax legislation, and internal financial policies.
  • Manage corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, statutory submissions, and external audit processes.
  • Build and maintain strong financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes.
  • Provide financial modelling, investment analysis, and commercial support for business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, financial performance, and cost management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while driving a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with operational, commercial, procurement, HR, and executive teams to support business growth.
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business transformation projects, and continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial information presented to management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8–10 years' finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience within logistics, transport, supply chain, manufacturing, mining, engineering, or similar industries.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and tax management.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial governance, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience using ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead finance teams and support strategic business growth.
