Key Requirements
Minimum 1 year’s experience in operations, team leadership or supervisory management.
Proven experience supervising operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience managing inbound and outbound logistics or distribution processes.
Strong understanding of operational procedures, service standards and performance management.
Proven ability to identify, assess and manage operational and security risks.
Experience monitoring KPIs, productivity and operational performance.
Strong knowledge of health, safety, security and quality requirements.
Experience managing customer service standards and resolving operational issues.
Ability to work shifts, weekends and after hours when required.
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
Experience working with operational tracking, scanning and reporting systems.
Strong administrative and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily inbound and outbound operations and ensure timely shipment processing.
Coordinate sorting, bagging, scanning and routing of domestic and international shipments.
Monitor collection and delivery schedules and ensure operational deadlines are achieved.
Ensure shipments are correctly scanned, labelled, documented and processed.
Manage exceptions, missorts, undeliverables, bad addresses and shipments placed on hold.
Ensure security, dangerous goods and high-value shipment procedures are followed.
Monitor courier performance, route productivity and departure times.
Manage operational risks and escalate incidents or service-impacting issues.
Lead, coach and motivate operational staff through regular performance management.
Monitor operational KPIs, scorecards and productivity targets.
Prepare and submit regular operational performance reports and action plans.
Ensure accurate and timely capture of shipment, checkpoint and operational information.
Maintain compliance with company SOPs, quality standards and audit requirements.
Conduct operational checks and self-audits and address identified non-compliance.
Liaise with security and management regarding incidents and operational risks.
Ensure equipment, vehicles and facilities meet required operational standards.
Maintain adequate operational supplies and stationery levels.
Promote a strong customer-focused and service-driven culture.

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
Valid Code B driver’s licence.
Minimum 1 year’s relevant operations or supervisory experience.
Valid Category 6 Dangerous Goods certificate.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation and operational procedures.
CIM 1 qualification would be advantageous.
CIM Supervisory qualification would be advantageous.
Logistics, transport or supply chain qualification would be advantageous.
Experience with operational management and shipment-processing systems would be advantageous.
Knowledge of quality management and ISO standards would be beneficial.
